I tend to be much more inspired by street style images and pics from style blogs than by magazine editorials and runway presentations. These are real people, out there wearing real clothes and in that, expressing themselves unashamedly to the world. And I say that even with all the talk the last couple fashion week seasons about how social media and street style blogs have made fashion week an over the top circus. I think it’s extremely easy to tell who’s real and who probably is dressing strategically for the cameras.
With Chinese internet connectivity being what it is I haven’t been able to troll my favourite blogs the way I would like but today I had the day off and spent the better part of the day compiling this collection.
Yes, I realize half these pics are of shorts and we’re headed into October. BUT I am obsessed with the incongruous, unexpected look of shorts with a bigass chunky sweater or funky jacket for Fall and judging by the vast number of shorts that are in stores currently I’m not the only one! I mean, there’s gonna be a long period of time where this look is not even remotely practical so why not try it now during the transitional stage when it’s still kinda warm?
I had so many pics that I realized THIS is what Pinterest is good for! Not the biggest fan of Pinterest, but let me see if I can get back into it. For more look here.
Oh and these are OBVS not my pics. For more check The Sartorialist, Gary Pepper Girl, Song of Style, The Man Repeller, Style.com, Vogue.com, Harpersbazaar.com, Garance Dore, Atlantic Pacific, Karla’s Closet, and The Cut.
