So while everyone else was wining down in Trinidad I went to Venice over Carnival weekend. It was…different. Lots and lots of crowds and lots of traditional costumes but super super cold.

So cold that I couldn’t even take cute pictures without risking hypothermia of the hand.

So cold in fact that on Sunday after lunch I retreated to the hotel and refused to leave for the rest of the day (this is the first sign of SADD I’m sure).

On Monday when we left a snowstorm blanketed Northern Italy. I just didn’t understand how the people got the motivation to go out and parade in costume in those conditions without MUSIC (well there are no vehicles on Venice so no music trucks but maybe a big music boat might be a cool concept…I will suggest it).
